my nyc.

this is my personal new york. the view from the 35th floor, the best shower in the history of planet earth, another from my Francesca buzz, and watching celebrity ghost stories and eating crumbs cupcakes with rachel, and the best ferry ride of all time. i did a lot of things, but these are the memories that stand out the most. not your average "i went to new york cityyyyyy" photos, i know... they're just for me!

balance

I've struggled recently... with balance.
It's just so important. everything tends to outweigh ME.
it's time to tip that scale and make ME balance with everything else.

I was putting one of the littles i babysit for to bed tonight and i asked her "what do you want to be when you grow up?"
she said "what do you mean... what do I want to be? or what do I want my job to be?"
i was just struck by how she differentiated between who a person is and what their job is.. because the two aren't mutually exclusive anymore... so many people are so wrapped up (myself included) in what one does for a living and making it the most important and most developed thing in one's life.
she's 7.
there is hope for the world.

balance.
